Auxiliary

The mission statement adopted by the MCH Auxiliary in October 1999 states the following:

"We are an organization of volunteers committed to support the healing mission of Marian Community Hospital. We accomplish this through fund-raising, volunteer services, and by generating a positive connection between the hospital, its employees and the community. Our service is offered in response to our awareness of the gifts we have been given, the kindness we have experienced, and our concern for our community."

As a nonprofit corporation, the Marian Community Hospital Auxiliary has as its purpose to support and to provide assistance to Marian Community Hospital and its patients. The MCH Auxiliary is affiliated with the Maxis Foundation and is a member organization of Pennsylvania Association of Healthcare Auxiliaries. Membership in the Auxiliary is open to any adult who wishes to promote its mission and is achieved through the completion of the attached application and payment of annual dues.

The Auxiliary holds nine regular monthly meetings throughout the year including the September Welcome Dinner, Christmas Holiday Dinner, Mardi Gras Brunch and Annual Spring Dinner. There are no meetings in January, July and August. In addition to the agenda, each meeting includes an educational or social program. Members are encouraged to attend the monthly meetings in order to remain informed of Auxiliary happenings.

The Auxiliary presents a monetary gift to Marian Community Hospital annually. This gift is the total of the fund-raising activities conducted throughout the year. This contribution may be designated for specific projects that benefit patient care areas and ongoing improvements. A sample of Auxiliary fund-raisers is listed in the adjoining application.

New members are always welcome and needed for the Auxiliary to continue its long-standing tradition of assisting in providing for the healthcare needs of residents of the Northern Lackawanna Valley region.

If you are interested in a pleasant and valuable way to serve your community, please consider joining the Auxiliary. For more information, contact an Auxiliary member or Krista DiRienzo at (570) 281-1069.
