Laboratory Services:

Chemistry - testing for chemical components of the blood to include glucose and cholesterol, as well as,  immunochemical components such as Prostate Specific Antigen (PSA).  Marian Community's state-of-the-art chemistry analyzer allows our in-house laboratory to run tests such as Bilirubin, Hemoglobin A1C and Direct LDL with an estimated 24-hour turn around time.  Also, since only a very small sample is required for the test to run effectively, the blood collection process is quicker, making it ideal for pediatric and elderly patients.

Hematology - the study of cells and their components such as a Complete Blood Count (CBC). Testing for diseases such as anemia and leukemia.

Microbiology - Testing for infections and appropriate antibiotic treatments.

Coagulation/Urinalysis - testing for issues such as a prothrombin time (PT) and kidney function.

Blood Bank - Processing of blood products to be given to patients. Testing includes antibody screening and compatibility of the blood product.

The Marian Community Hospital  laboratory is accredited by The College of American Pathologists.   For the convenience of our patients Marian Community Hospital's central laboratory is open for outpatient testing from 5 a.m. to 8 p.m. daily.
