Vascular Laboratory

Marian Community’s Vascular Diagnostic Center is one of the most advanced vascular laboratories in the area.  The lab is fully accredited by the Intersocietal Commission for the Accreditation of Vascular Laboratories (ICAVL).  The team of healthcare professionals is devoted to providing state-of-the-art diagnosis of conditions such as Peripheral Arterial Disease and Abdominal Aortic Aneurysm.  Non-invasive testing including Venous, Cerebrovascular and Arterial evaluations can provide early detection of abnormalities in the arteries and veins.  These painless tests are performed by Registered Vascular Technologists using ultrasound images to analyze blood flow. 

Outpatient vascular testing is performed at the hospital in Carbondale Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

 

Vascular diagnostic testing is also offered at the Marian Outpatient center located at 14 Roosevelt Highway in Waymart, PA.   Studies are conducted on Wednesdays between the hours of 8 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.    

Vascular Diseases are caused from the narrowing of arteries by plaques resulting in reduced blood flow through vessels leading to the arms, legs, head, neck, kidneys or bowel.   Weakening of the artery wall, often the main artery, the aorta, can result in an aortic aneurysm.   Early detection by ultrasound will assist your physician with treatment.
