Wireless Guest Services

Patients and their visiting family members can "stay connected" while at Marian Community Hospital. The hospital has added a free wireless network connection for those who wish to access either the Internet or personal email accounts during a hospital stay. The connection is available in all inpatient rooms, including the ICU and Behavioral Health Unit, as well as, Visitor Waiting Rooms on both Second and Third Floors.

"Offering this service gives our patients and their family members the opportunity to communicate with those who aren’t able to be here with them, as well as, browse the internet as a source for information," says Dave Cummins, network manager, Information Services Department, Marian Community Hospital.

Recuperating patients and/or family members will be required to bring their own laptop computer into the hospital and be responsible for the equipment. The network is provided through the IT Shared Services of Catholic Health East and site access is subject to restriction by the hospital’s fire wall. A simple, step-by-step instruction sheet explaining how to log onto the hospital’s Internet Guest Access is included in all patient admission folders.
